Mark Lynn Robb

Mark Lynn Robb, age 70, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Mark was born on September 12, 1955, in Defiance, Ohio, to Dorothy (nee Boyce) and Arnold Robb. Because of his father’s work with General Motors, Mark spent much of his childhood living in various states, an experience that shaped his adaptability, perspective, and deep appreciation for people from all walks of life. Mark dedicated 40 faithful years of his career to Edsal Manufacturing, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and quiet leadership. He believed in showing up, doing the job right, and treating people fairly. For 48 years, Mark was the devoted husband of Clara Lynn Robb, with whom he built a life rooted in commitment, faith, and family. Together they raised three children—Elliot, Gabriella, and Billy. He was a proud grandfather to Nina, Andrew, Theodore, Carter, Jack, Levi, Randy, and Camden. Mark took immense pride in his role as a father and grandfather. Few things brought him more joy than watching his grandsons play baseball. A friend and mentor to many, Mark was known as a stern but fair man who believed in second chances and stood firmly by his principles. Mark loved football and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Rush. He found peace in nature, enjoyed music ranging from Christian rock to jazz, and had a passion for history and politics. His thoughtful conversations, steady presence, and dry sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Mark is survived by his wife Clara Robb; his children and their spouses, Elliot and Jenna Robb, Marty and Gabby Shanahan, and Billy Johnson; and his beloved grandchildren, Nina, Andrew, and Theodore Shanahan; Carter, Jack, Levi, and Randy Johnson; and Camden Robb. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Dorothy Robb; his brother Andy Robb; sister Cheri Nagy, and other loved family members who went before him. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 12:15 PM until Prayer Service begins at 1:00 PM at The Village Christian Church, located at 8965 Bell Road, Minooka, IL 60447 with a reception to follow. Mark’s life was one of faithfulness, integrity, and love for family. He will be remembered for his strength, his fairness, and the steady way he showed up for the people he cared about. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
