Robert J. Chiovatero

March 11, 1955 - November 17, 2013

Robert John Chiovatero "Chiv" Of Channahon, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2013 surrounded by family at his beloved sisters home. Born in Joliet, IL the son of the late Robert Joseph and Grace M. Chiovatero (nee Dixon). Loving father of Amanda Nicole (Ryan) Vandervelde and grandfather of Ryder James Vandervelde; cherished childhood memories were shared with his late brother Richard Alan and two sisters; Diana (Robert "Jerry") Smith and Sharon (the late Ron) Cassineri; fond uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Also left to cherish his memory are Uncle William (Rita) Chiovatero, Aunt Donna (Bill) McClintock, Aunt Carol O'Guin as well as dear friends; Smiley, Karin, Tim and Mike. Preceded in death by his parents, brother, paternal grandparents; Joseph L. and Bernice Chiovatero (nee Eichbichler) and maternal grandparents; Harry and Myrtle Dixon (nee Effner). Robert was a life long resident of Channahon and a graduate of Minooka High School. And a long standing member of Will County Carpenters Union 174. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, picking mushrooms and harvesting aquatic watercress. He was also a sports enthusiast who proudly cheered on The Chicago Bears, Blackhawks and the White Sox. A Memorial Visitation for Robert John Chiovatero will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at The Maple Funeral Home located at 24300 W.
