Lillian E. Bergelin Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lillian E. Bergelin (nee Frederick) Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her late Channahon residence on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at the age of 96 years. Born in Joliet, IL the daughter of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth Frederick. Beloved Wife of the late Chester A. Bergelin; Proud Mother of Gerald W. (Patricia) Bergelin, Michael J. (Kristi) Bergelin, Bobbie A. Bergelin and Jody L. (Ronnie) Smith; Cherished Grandmother of Joseph (Gina) Bergelin, Jonathan (Jackie) Bergelin, Craig (Maureen) Grams, Jacob Bergelin, Mitchell Bergelin, Zachary (Robin) Smith and Augusta Smith. Adored Great Grandmother of many; Fond Sister of the late Raymond Frederick and the late Marie J. Lyons. Also left to cherish her memory are numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Lillian will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She had an affinity for children and was a natural as a babysitter and day-care provider. From one end of the spectrum to the other she also had a empathy for the aging as she worked as a LPN for many years at Sunny Hill Nursing Home and Salem Village Nursing and Rehab in Joliet. A long time member of Families of Faith Church in Channahon and a life time resident of Channahon. She will be missed in her community. A special acknowledgement to the staff of Lightways Hospice in Joliet for their kindness and professionalism shown to Lillian. Thank You, from the Bergelin Family. Funeral Services for Lillian E. Bergelin will be Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 8:30 AM at The Maple Funeral Home located at 24300 W. Ford Rd, Channahon. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. Visitation Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
