Mr. Lawrence T. Moorman

April 10, 1937 - January 24, 2022

Lawrence T. Moorman It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Larry Moorman on Monday, January 24, 2022. Born the son of the late Wilbur A. and Agnes V. (nee Van Duyne) Moorman. Beloved Husband of 59 years to Janet M. (nee Rittof) Moorman; Proud Father of Robert A. (Jody) Moorman, Missey Moorman-Schumacher, Joseph J. (Lori) Moorman and the late Lawrence S. "Louie" Moorman; Loving and cherished Grandfather of Aubry (Eli) White, Andrew Moorman, Brock Hermann, Chase Hermann, Bradley Schumacher and J. Schumacher; Dearest Great Grandfather of Callen White, Isabel White, Olivia White and McKenzie Sobota-Hermann. Also left to cherish his memory are his dear nephews, Steve III (Stacy) Rittof and Matthew (Erin) Rittof and brother in law, Steve (Cathy) Rittof. Preceded in death by his parents, his son, Louie Moorman and sister, Nancy M. Moorman (1978). Larry was a 50+ year member of Carpenters Local #174. The developer of Spring Brook Estates in Channahon and long time part owner of Rittof's Hardware in Channahon. He was a talented and skilled wood worker who milled his own lumber. He was the oldest of 65 grandchildren of the Van Duyne Family. He enjoyed his small animal farm and was a long time member of the "Coffee Club" including, Bob, George, Ron, Juno, Jim, Bud and the late Art. He will be lovingly remembered as everyone's "Project Engineer". Funeral Service for Lawrence T. Moorman will be Friday, January 28, 2022 at 10:30 AM at The Maple Funeral Home located at 24300 W. Ford Rd, Channahon to St. Ann Catholic Church, Channahon for 11:00 AM Mass. Fr. Jeff Stoneberg Officiating. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Minooka. Preferred Memorial may be directed to Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Hospital. Visitation Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. The Maple Funeral Home will maintain that all visitors are required to wear face masks. With the exception of bottled water, food and drinks are not permitted in the funeral home at the current time.
