Henry S. Stassen Of Minooka, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the age of 93 years. Born in Green Garden Township, IL the son of the late William and Mayme (nee Sauter) Stassen. Beloved Husband of the late Betty (nee Whalen) Stassen; Loving Father of Theresa Carnahan and husband Scott and Dolores Willis; Proud Grandfather of Michael Carnahan, Brett Carnahan and wife Krista, Tyler Carnahan, Brian Turner and Karie Turner; Dear Friend of Thelma Thorson; Fond Uncle of numerous Nieces and Nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his parents; two sons, William Turner and Robert Turner and two sisters, Helen (the late Richard) Klett and Vera (the late Herbert) Glasscock. Henry was a distinguished Veteran of the United States Army proudly serving his Country during the European Theatre of World War II, a lifelong Fan of the Cubs, the compassionate Owner of Penny his faithful canine companion. Henry retired from Caterpillar, Inc., Joliet, IL after three rewarding decades of service. A special thanks to Stephanie, Teresa and Dawn of Newsome Home Health Care and Cathy, Brenda and Ella of Compassionate Care Hospice for the kindness and care they extended to Mr. Stassen. Funeral Service for Henry S. Stassen will begin at 12:00 PM on Monday, June 19, 2017 at The Maple Funeral Home located at 24300 W. Ford Rd., Channahon. Interment Plainfield Township Cemetery. Contributions may be sent to the Morris Hospital Commemorative Serenity Garden. Visitation also on Monday, June 19 from 10:00 AM until Service Begins at 12:00 PM.
