Dorothy M. Anderson (nee McCloud) Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the age of 92 years. Dorothy was born and raised in Minooka and has lived in Channahon all of her adult life. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years Al; one son, Danny; grandson Rob and great grandson Shane. Beloved mother of Phyllis (Troy) Mosley of AZ, Jerry (Karen) of Channahon, Pat (David) Niese of AZ, Jim (Doris) of Channahon, Marlene (Dearld) Jay of Bonnie, IL. Also left to mourn her passing; daughter in law Charity Anderson of Shorewood, 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and dear friends Larry and JoAnn Morris. Al and Dorothy owned and operated Al's Garage & Auto Salvage from 1947 to 1978. Dorothy was the first woman School Bus Driver in Illinois and will be fondly remembered for the many years she served the community, driving the very first School Bus in Channahon. She enjoyed Bingo, Senior Activities and most importantly spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A special thank you to the staff at Morris Health Care and the Joliet Area Community Hospice for their care and compassion over the years. Funeral Service for Dorothy M. Anderson will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at The Maple Funeral Home located at 24300 W. Ford Rd., Channahon. Pastor Hans Fiene officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet.
