Mary Jane Borzym

Mary Jane Borzym (nee Hudak) Passed away peace- fully on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Lakewood Nursing Home, Plain- field. Born in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late John and Josephine Hudak. Beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Borzym; Loving mother of Michael (Lisa Mammosser) Borzym and Melissa (the late Edward) Kohler; Cherished grandmother of Brittany, Jayson, Andrew, Amber and Lawrence; Great grand- mother of six; Fond aunt of numerous nieces and nephews; Dear sister of Eleanor (the late Ralph) Allen and Sister-in-law of Peter (Joan) Borzym, Carole (the late Donald) Borzym, Sandy (the late Richard) Borzym. Preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Irene (the late Richard) Drazewski, Dorothy (the late Walter) Gebarowski. Mary Jane grew up in Chicago. Married Thomas Borzym and moved to Berwyn and was very involved in Church activities at St. Leonards Catholic Church. They then moved to Minooka and developed more deep relationships with fellow parishioners of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Minooka. She was involved in CCW, named woman of the year in 2003. She enjoyed camping at CECO Recreation Club in Coal City. She was a lucky expert at all kinds of games like Bridge, Cribbage, Euchre, Michigan Rummy and Triominoes. Mary Jane enjoyed believing she was Irish for the majority of her life until she found out her “roots” were actually Slova- nian. Therefore her memory will live on when ever Mike uses her Irish Soda Bread recipe or when great grandchildren snuggle in one of her handmade afghans. She more recently moved to Heritage Woods of Minooka and quickly developed new friendships and loved Bunco, Bingo, Bible Studies, Sing Alongs, Bus Trips and going to Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Minooka. In honor of Mary Jane please no black or mourning colors. This is a celebration of life and like her, let’s be Flashy and Stylish. Visitation for Mary Jane Borzym will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at The Maple Funeral Home located at 24300 S. Ford Rd., Channahon, IL. Friends and Family are asked to meet directly at St. Mary’s Catholic Church located at 300 W. St. Mary St, Minooka at 9:30 AM on Monday June 24, 2024 for Mass of Christian Burial.
