Lowell Lee Rainwater

Lowell Lee Rainwater Age 90, of Channahon, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2022, at Amita Health Adventist Medical Center in Bolingbrook. Born in Bluford, IL, he was a resident of Channahon for most of his adult life. He was a retired employee of Caterpillar Tractor, serving them for over 30 years. Lowell was always fascinated by the big machinery that Caterpillar built. During his younger days, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and almost anything outdoors. In his childhood, Lowell grew up on a farm near Mount Vernon, IL. Well into his adulthood, Lowell loved to travel through the country to see how farm crops were growing, especially corn and soybeans. In addition, Lowell was a long-time active member of the Channahon United Methodist Church. It gives his family great comfort in knowing that Lowell is now at peace in his heavenly home. Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Lucille (nee Reese) Rainwater, wife, Mary Alma (nee Knauss) Rainwater, his brother, Gaile Rainwater, brother-in-law, Lester Hill, son-in-law Wayne Wilda Sr., and a nephew, Michael Wayne Hill. Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Sherry (the late Wayne) Wilda of Minooka, and Sharon (Richard) Koefoed of New Lenox. Two granddaughters, Stacy Laysalle and Nicole Wilda of Morris, great-grandchildren, Kyle Laysalle, Katie Laysalle, Bailey Parker and Aiden Jones. Also, Lowell's sister Wanda (the late Lester) Hill of Mount Vernon, IL, nieces, Sheila (Pat) Courville and Anita Vespie, nephews, Edward (Brenda) Rainwater, Ricky (Amy), Gary, and Rodney Hill. Numerous friends, great nieces and nephews also survive. Lowell really loved spending time will all of his family and friends and will greatly be missed by all. Lowell L. Rainwater will be lying in state on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 10:00 AM until Funeral Service begins at 11:00 AM at Channahon United Methodist Church located at 24751 W. Eames (Rt. 6). Interment Willard Grove Cemetery, Channahon. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lowell's name gifted to the Channahon United Methodist Church would be appreciated.
