Clara "Penny" Hrechko

Clara "Penny" Hrechko Passed away on June 3, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born the daughter of Lee and Cecil (nee Hancock) Todd. She lived her entire life and raised her family in Minooka, IL. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Hrechko; her sons, Jason of Dwight and Chad (Laura) of Minooka; cherished grandmother of Brant and Reed Hrechko of whom she adored. Fond sister of Cindy (Ralph) Davis of Las Vegas, Nevada; dear sister in law of Cynthia (Richard) Gallick, Julie (the late Richard) Hrechko, Laura (Douglas) Snode and Debra (Jerry) Rademacher. Also left to cherish her memory are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Lee Roy and Cecil (nee Hancock) Todd, brothers and sisters, Shirley (Mickey) Sanders, Leslie "Buster" (Betty) Todd, Roy A. "Babe" (Patricia) Todd, Wesley Todd (in infancy), Barbara (Dale) Thompson, Maxine (David) Gilkerson and Merry Faye Todd. Also her lifelong best friend Agatha Siron, and niece, Sherry Sanders of whom she had a special bond. Graduating with the class of 1966 at Minooka High School, Penny worked at A.P.S.A., Ecolab and the Morris Daily Herald before staying at home to raise her family. Penny returned to work at the Channahon Post Office in 1992 as rural mail carrier until her retirement in 2003. Penny enjoyed traveling, visiting with family and friends, was an avid reader and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Penny was a loving mother, friend and gentle woman who only had kind words for others. She will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral Service for Clara "Penny" Hrechko will begin at 7:30 PM on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at The Maple Funeral Home located at 24300 S. Ford Rd., Channahon. Per Penny's wishes Cremation Rites will follow services. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL will be scheduled at a later date. Visitation also on Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 4:00 PM until Service Begins at 7:30 PM, Chaplain Jim McGuire officiating. Memorials may be directed to Lightways Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet IL 60431 in appreciation for their kindness and care during this time.
